Want to gain 5 hours of productive time this week?

Zoom and similar platforms have become a necessity over the past five months.  These platforms have enabled us to continue working while meeting with colleagues, customers, vendors, etc. virtually.

However, I have noticed something.  Everyone schedules a Zoom meeting for 1-hour, even when an hour is not needed!  Rarely do meetings end early, so if you schedule a meeting for an hour, it will last an hour.  (This is Parkinson’s Law  which states that work expands to fill the time available for its completion.)  Ugh!

Try this.  Schedule your meetings for 45 minutes, and watch how they will end in 45 minutes.  Assuming you can optimize four of your meetings a day  into 45 minutes, you will gain 5 hours of time per week (20 per month).  Just think, if you multiply this figure by the number of attendees in each meeting, you will create a significant amount of productive time for your team members.

In order for this to happen, you the leader must initiate this new protocol of the 45-minute meeting.  If you begin doing this, others will follow.

So begin today and enjoy your extra 5 hours per week!
